Care for the learned

To look after and assist learned Pandits, Sadhus and mendicants and provide for their temporary accommodation and maintenance for a period not exceeding one month in the year.Clause 3(d)
What it asks for
A room and a meal, for up to one month in the year.
This is the most precisely drafted of the five, and the limit is the point. The founders did not write an open-ended promise of hospitality; they wrote one month in the year, per person, and they wrote maintenance as well as accommodation, which means food, not only a bed. A trust that promises everything ends up giving nothing, and they knew it.
The guest house on the estate is kept for exactly this. Learned pandits, sadhus and mendicants are given a room and their maintenance within that limit. Visiting devotees and families are welcome alongside them.
