विभूतियोगThe divine glories
Wherever there is excellence, splendour or strength, know it to be a spark of the Divine.
How can excellence become a doorway to remembrance?
By reading excellence as a fraction rather than a summit. Arjuna asks how to keep Krishna in mind, and the answer is a list of vibhūtis — among rivers the Ganga, among mountains Meru — which Krishna then relativises himself: whatever is glorious carries a spark of his splendour (10.41). The list trains attention, not ranking. It does not say that the powerful deserve reverence, or that success proves anything. Excellence is worth noticing because it points past itself.
Read it with this in mindThe list trains attention. It does not say that only the powerful deserve reverence, nor that worldly success proves spiritual superiority. Excellence points beyond itself.

Where we are in the dialogue
Seeing Divine Excellence
Krishna is the source from whom beings arise. Devotees remember together and receive buddhi-yoga. Arjuna asks how to recognise Krishna in the world; the answer names selected vibhūtis, not an exhaustive catalogue. Every splendour carries a fraction of divine radiance.
- Words to carry through
- source; buddhi-yoga; vibhūti; remembrance; excellence without possession
10.1–11Source of all and buddhi-yogaKrishna again speaks of His originless sovereignty and the guidance granted to devoted seekers.

यद्यद्विभूतिमत्सत्त्वं श्रीमदूर्जितमेव वा ।
तत्तदेवावगच्छ त्वं मम तेजोंऽशसम्भवम् ॥yadyadvibhūtimatsattvaṁ śrīmadūrjitameva vā / tattadevāvagaccha tvaṁ mama tejoṁ’śasambhavam
Whatever being holds glory, beauty or strength, understand that it has arisen from no more than a fragment of my own splendour.

athavā bahunaitena kiṁ jñātena tavārjuna / viṣṭabhyāhamidaṁ kṛtsnamekāṁśena sthito jagat
But what need have you, Arjuna, of knowing all this in such detail? I hold up this entire world with a single fragment of myself, and so I stand.
पर हे अर्जुन, इतना विस्तार से जानने की तुम्हें क्या आवश्यकता है? मैं अपने एक ही अंश से इस सारे जगत् को थामकर स्थित हूँ।
